This week, we finished school. This week, we celebrated achievements. This week, we took some baby steps out of the house from quarantine.
This week, the kids had to return to school to pick up their yearbooks and any belongings that were left. Finley received his reward for selling so many coupon books for ROTC a while back. He was SO excited! He earned this pullover that says "Hendersonville MCJROTC" on the front and it says "MIDDLETON" on the back!
You have no idea how excited he was when I told him his name was on the back!!
Addison hasn't met the new cheer squad yet. They are planning on having their first practice on June 1st. In the meantime, the coach is splitting them into different groups each week and making them do a fun challenge together. Last week, they had to record themselves doing exercises and tumbling. The team with the most was the winner. This week they switched teams and had to do a group Tik Tok. I love the fact that one of these girls is in California and is just moving to Hendersonville this week. Here's their group video. It had to be cheer related.
Our peninsula is like a little village. I love it! This week the village came out of their houses and lined the streets so the seniors could do one last "Ride In" past their old elementary schools and end in the high school parking lot. Ride In's are usually done in the morning before every home football game with all grades invited. At the end of the school year that have a high school field day and pep rally on a day that we call "Black and Gold Day". We didn't get that day this year so we had a Seniors final Ride In instead. The crowd lined the streets for 2 miles.
The seniors couldn't believe it!
And Owen. He lounged on Sloane.
Finally, Finley has been wanted me to take pictures of him lately. We took advantage of the sun going down for this one.
